NEW HCPCS CODES FOR SPINAL ORTHOSES

New, permanent HCPCS codes have been established to replace the temporary "K" codes in Spinal Orthoses. These new, permanent codes become effective January 1, 2006. Our suggested HCPCS codes will be changing as follows:

There will be no grace period for using the old "K" codes after 1/1/06. HCPCS code descriptions will remain the same and there will be no change to reimbursement amounts.

Products that have been approved for the old, temporary "K" codes should automatically be reassigned to their new permanent "L" codes by SADMERC on 1/1/06.
